• The Silver Institute formed the Silver Nanotechnology Working Group in January 2009 "to foster the collection of data on silver nanotechnology in order to advance the science and public understanding of the beneficial uses of silver nanoparticles in a wide-range of consumer and industrial products." At the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) FIFRA Scientific Advisory Panel's meeting of November 3-6, 2009, this group discussed the "Evaluation of Hazard and Exposure Associated with Nanosilver and Other Nanometal Oxide Pesticide Products". The group also submitted "Comments of the Silver Nanotechnology Working Group for Review by the FIFRA Scientifc Advisory Panel" about evaluating the hazard and exposure associated with nanosilver and other nanometal oxide pesticide products.
